Getting Scheduled
Scheduling Process for library instructors
🥳 Congratulations! You have been scheduled to teach your first class.
The Instruction Department works hard to notify you as early as possible about the library sessions you will be teaching. We will reach out to you as soon as we have scheduling information from the writing instructors, usually within the first few weeks of the semester. You will have at least several weeks to prepare for the class(es) you are assigned.
You will be invited to teach a WRTG 150 class through an Outlook calendar invitation. It will include some important information:
1. Dates and times of your library sessions
If the dates and times of your library sessions work for you, be sure to accept the Outlook invitation so the Instruction Department knows you will be covering the classes. If you are not available, please decline as soon as possible so we can find another librarian to cover those classes.
2. The name of the writing instructor
The more communication you have with the writing instructor, the better you can tailor the library session to meet their needs. Reach out to your writing instructor two to three weeks before their library sessions begin. (Hint: You can find their email address by typing in their name in the Outlook "To" line.)
3. Link to the library homework modules
We recommend you look at the library homework modules so you are familiar with the instruction the students will be receiving in preparation for your library session.
